Federal Representative Cecilia Patrón Laviada promotes an environmental culture in her vision of a sustainable Mérida, in which authorities and citizens work as a team to care for the environment.
“From the Chamber of Deputies we make proposals in favor of the environment, the result of listening to citizens,” he pointed out.
In this sense, it promotes a bill that ensures that housing developers create green areas and a point of agreement that urges the Federal Government to generate a plan to modernize public transportation with ecological units.
On the other hand, he referred to successful public policies with a defined regulatory framework that makes a city like Mérida great.
“This is the case of the Green Dots that respond to the present needs of Merida families, which is why as legislators it is important to support these actions and that they be complemented with initiatives that generate greater awareness in the fight against climate change.”
“There is a commitment and positive response from citizens, since in the last five years alone, more than 830 tons of waste have been collected, which is equivalent to generating more than 4 thousand tons of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere,” he said.
The City Council of Mérida has a total of 11 Mega Green Points distributed throughout the city, where 18 types of waste can be disposed of, in addition to 205 more green points installed for the disposal of PET, small electronics, and batteries.
