With new services that guarantee better, faster and more efficient medical care, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal delivered the rehabilitation work of the Health Centers of the municipalities of Chankom and Tinum, which will allow us to continue transforming the quality of life of the Yucatecans who most they need it.
On a work tour of these locations, Vila Dosal also carried out rehabilitation work on streets and ejido houses and inaugurated the Violeta de Chankom Regional Center, which offers legal and psychological care to those women who have suffered some type of violence.
Together with the head of the State Health Secretariat (SSY), Mauricio Sauri Vivas, the Governor reported that, as of now, the 140 Health Centers of the entity already have free laboratory tests, ultrasounds, dental and psychological care, as well as a red backpack to stabilize patients who suffer a heart attack while the ambulance arrives for their transfer, as well as an oxygen tank, services that can be accessed through the Universal Health Card.
“This center already has free laboratory tests, the sample is taken on Mondays and the results are delivered in 2 days. Also, with ultrasound every Wednesday from 8 am to 1 pm; dental care and psychology. In addition, the center health will operate 24 hours a day, 6 days a week,” he explained in Chankom.
Accompanied by the head of the Ministry of Social Development (Sedesol), Roger Torres Peniche, the Governor urged residents to process their Universal Health Card with the People’s Assistants, which will allow them to access all these services for free.
By inaugurating the Violet Regional Center of Chankom, Vila Dosal reaffirmed the commitment of his Government to continue creating infrastructure and strengthening institutions that care for women who have been victims of some type of violence.
“They are not alone, the institutions and the Governor are there to support them and tell them that they will never be alone again,” she stated before the head of the Women’s Secretariat (Semujeres), María Cristina Castillo Espinosa.
Subsequently, Vila Dosal moved to the town of San Francisco el Grande, in Tinum, where for the first time a Governor visited to deliver the work of the Ejidal House Improvement and Equipment program that benefits 187 ejidatarios. The work consisted of scraping and changing paint, labeling the titles and logos, installing fans and lamps, as well as repairing doors and windows.
The renovated space will also benefit the students of the “Rosario Castellanos” initial school.
Right there, he delivered the rehabilitation work of the Health Center, which consisted of the installation of fans, linear lamps, air conditioners, sinks and antibacterial curtains.
As in Chankom, they also included the intervention of all areas of the health center, such as waiting rooms, vaccination, general medicine and cures; the Center of Specialization and equipment; Cedathos, medical room and pharmacy. The staff and public bathrooms, doors and windows were also remodeled, and white, antibacterial paint was applied to the interior walls.
The hydraulic and electrical systems were serviced, and the exterior works were improved, such as the garden and the construction of sidewalks with ramps for access by people with disabilities.
Previously, for the benefit of 6,740 inhabitants, the Governor delivered the rehabilitation work of 24 streets in the town of Pisté, which had an investment of 6.2 million pesos, totaling 2.6 kilometers.
