The former governor will participate with the objective of completing the task carried out by the tricolor and making a difference for Yucatán.

Mérida, Yucatán, January 2024.- Rolando Zapata Bello, former governor of Yucatán (2012-2018) and current Secretary of Electoral Action of the PRI political party, officially registered as a candidate for the first Senate formula for the PRI and the Fuerza y Corazón por México Coalition.

In a video published on his social networks, Zapata Bello expressed his commitment to Yucatán and his vision to complete the transexennial development project that the plural citizenship of the entity has promoted in recent years.

He highlighted the Digital Wellbeing, School Wellbeing, Bird-care and Backyard Gardens programs, as well as some of the works that still translate into results in favor of Yucatecan families such as the Maternal and Child Hospital, the International Congress Center and the Palacio de la Música.

In his publication, the Secretary of Electoral Action of the PRI emphasized that he participates in this 2024 electoral process, the largest in the history of the country, to “make a difference” and that there continues to be peace and security in Yucatán.

In the Casa del Pueblo, supported by PRI followers and regional leaders, Zapata Bello confirmed that today Yucatán is a state that is growing and in which there are opportunities for everyone, although the task must be completed so that prosperity reaches the 106 municipalities of the state.

“We still do not have the perfect Yucatán that we all would like to have; the task must be completed, but we must stay in course because we have invested a lot of effort and sacrifices in a project that belongs to everyone and that is about to bear its best results for all citizens,” said the former governor.

It should be noted that in the 2015 state elections, Rolando Zapata Bello obtained 530,777 votes, surpassing his closest competitor by more than 100,000. Likewise, various surveys place him in 2024 with a very good level of knowledge among the population and a favorable public opinion despite having been away from public office in the entity for six years.
