Residents of the San Ignacio community, in the municipality of Progreso, received Mayor Julián Zacarías Curi, so that staff from the Progreso City Council can formally begin the work to improve the urban image that will change transcendentally, not not only the aspect of their town but also their quality of life.
In his message, the mayor expressed: “I know that there were many years of waiting, and that they greatly needed several changes in this community , but today I am very happy to come, to bring you good news and strong actions for you and your families.”
The City Council of Progreso, through various municipal agencies, will dedicate greater attention to San Ignacio, to reinforce the rehabilitation of lighting fixtures, as well as the general cleaning of public roads and parks, and the removal of debris.
Reforestation actions will be also carried out, along with weeding and pruning around town, signage installations, and most importantly, the paving work which includes more than 7,910 square meters of streets.
Added to this is the improvement of the central walkway and the application of paint, both in that same place and in 313 houses that, together, will give greater enhancement to the image of San Ignacio.
In this context, the mayor thanked the more than 150 citizens who will be carrying out such important actions, as well as Kromer Pintura, who in addition to donating just over 150 buckets of paint and sealant, also provided spatulas, rollers, brushes, and extensions.
Therefore, Zacarías Curi highlighted that every one of the works will contribute to making San Ignacio and its inhabitants feel good, in a cleaner and more orderly town.
He concluded his message, inviting locals to contribute to the improvements, keeping the streets clean, and taking care of the parks and public spaces of their community, “If we don’t come together to make things work for the better, it is difficult to obtain great results. We come here to inaugurate the streets and the painted facades, and we want to celebrate all these good news with the people of San Ignacio.”
The municipal secretary, Roger Gómez Ortegón, as well as councilors and municipal directors also attended this event.
