La Rumorosa and Sierra San Pedro Mártir woke up with snowfall due to low temperatures.
On January 7, the first snowfalls were reported in La Rumorosa and the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir in Baja California, in addition to minimum temperatures of up to 7 degrees Celsius in Mexicali.
These weather conditions are part of the effects of the fourth winter storm, which this Sunday reached Baja California, Chihuahua, Durango and Sonora, as indicated by the forecasts of the National Water Commission (Conagua).
Since this morning, the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park announced the closure of its facilities until further notice, due to road conditions, while residents of La Rumorosa also confirmed on social networks the fall of snow in the town .
In Mexicali, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) forecast foresees maximum temperatures of 17 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures of 7 degrees, with northwest winds of between 15 and 20 kilometers per hour.
According to Conagua forecasts, the winter storm will bring winds of between 100 to 120 kilometers per hour and dust devils in different parts of Baja California, as well as showers in some areas of the state.
Likewise, minimum temperatures of minus 10 to 5 degrees are forecast with frost in the mountainous areas of the state and waves of three to five meters high on the west coast of the peninsula.
