The National Epidemiological Surveillance System (Sinave) confirmed 30 positive cases of dengue in Yucatán, with which it closed 2023, in addition to dropping to second place nationally, in terms of total registered infections.
According to the federal agency’s report, 10,460 cases occurred in the state throughout the year, with 21 deaths recorded, although there are more than 50 under study.
Of the total, 5,772 cases had warning signs, 4,341 were classic and 347 were serious, in addition to there being no reports of people hospitalized for this cause.
The municipalities of Cuncunul and Celestún remain the ones with the highest incidence of infections of this disease, spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, while Uayma and Tizimín also reported a significant rate in this area.

The entity finished in second place nationally, then spent practically all of 2023 at the top, remaining below Veracruz, which reached 10,480 infections.
At the national level, 54,406 positive cases of dengue were confirmed, with 203 deaths from this cause throughout the country.
