A tragic event took place this Thursday, February 22, at the Issste Susulá clinic in the Juan Pablo II neighborhood of Mérida, when a nurse was found dead due to suffering from a broncho-aspiration.

Unofficially, it was reported that the nurse named Sandra “N”, approximately 25 years old, suffered from various diseases and died in the hospital due to broncho-aspiration.

It is noted that the woman worked as an anesthesiologist’s assistant at the Issste de Susulá and for some reason died of choking on her own vomit, and it was also noted that she suffered from various illnesses.

It was investigated that a fellow nurse, upon entering the hospital’s third operating room, found the lifeless girl and with a catheter in her arm.

Due to this fact, the authorities of the State Attorney General’s Office and the State Investigative Police (PEI) were notified for the corresponding proceedings. The Forensic Medical Service was in charge of removing the body.

Another fatal case involving a nurse was recorded in Samahil, Yucatán
It should be noted that one day earlier, on Wednesday, Feb. 21, a nurse at the Samahil Health Center, identified as Heydi “N”, 45 years old, was found dead on a property on 22nd Street in this municipality.

At the scene, it was found out that the nurse, who had lived in Samahil for about 25 years, had committed suicide because she was suffering from cancer, specifically a brain tumor.
