CELESTUN, YUCATAN.- Relatives of five Yucatecan fishermen went to the port authorities because they remained lost since last Friday when they went out to sea from Celestún.
Two of them left on the boat “Lizandro1” and the other three on another boat.
The arrival of Cold Front No. 32, with a strong wind forecast, alerted the families of the sailors, who this morning went to the Port Captain’s Office to request help.
Ismael OC, 40 years old, and Aldo ACC, 27 years old, are missing in the first boat. and in the second Fernando Canul Uc, 40 years old, Eligio Palomar, and Ángel Cob Collí, who should have returned Sunday, Feb. 4th.
It was learned that the arrival of the “north”, with the strong gusts of wind and strong waves, prevented us from searching for it by sea or through a small plane.
As the hours pass, the anguish of the relatives increases and it is expected that as the intensity of the bad weather decreases, the search operation will begin.
