When inaugurating the Great Museum of Chichén Itzá, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador once again recognized the coordinated work that has been done with Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, with whom he has been able to work together despite being from different political movements.

From this new museum space, close to the ancient Mayan city, the head of the federal Executive highlighted that in the joint work carried out with Vila Dosal, the interest of the people of Yucatán has always been put first, working in common agreement.

“I recognize the coordinated work that we have done with Governor Mauricio Vila, even though we are from different movements, we have always acted putting the interest of the people of Yucatán first,” he stated.

Yucatán competes with anyone

Before the head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), Luisa María Alcalde Luján, Vila Dosal highlighted that today Yucatán and the states of the Southeast can compete not only to bring tourists, but we are also having the conditions for companies from all places from the world can come to invest in the state with the infrastructure that is being created.

«I told them, look what has happened in these 5 and a half years in the Southeast of the country, it is a before and after, because today, for the first time, the Southeast, and I say this specifically, today, the case of “Yucatan is having the infrastructure that the Southeast has never had before,” he acknowledged.

He recalled the coordinated work that is carried out together with the Federation such as the thermoelectric plants, the Great “La Plancha” Park; the O’Horán Hospital; soon the Kukulcán Stadium; the expansion of the Port of Progreso that is carried out together with the Secretary of the Navy.

“And all these works that, without a doubt, are generating a before and after here in Yucatán,” he added.

When talking about this new museum space, the Governor highlighted that through this work it will be possible to learn more about the Mayan culture, which is recognized in Mexico and worldwide.

Chichén Itzá, the most visited

«It is worth mentioning that Chichén Itzá received 2.3 million visitors last year, which will increase during this and the coming years. Because now Chichén Itzá no longer only has this great attraction, which is the museum and its new tourist inn, but now what is old Chichén has also been inaugurated,” Layda Sansores stressed in the presence of the Governors of Campeche; Mara Lizama from Quintana Roo and Rutilio Escandón from Chiapas.
