Cholul renovates park according to the “Participatory Design of Public Spaces” program

Cholul inaugurates renovated park designed by its inhabitants.

In the delivery of the rehabilitation works of the “Guadalupe” park, located in the town of Cholul, municipality of Merida, mayor Alejandro Ruz Castro highlighted that this work was carried out under the “Participatory Design of Public Spaces” program, which represents the interest of the population for contributing to the equitable development of the city.

As part of the “Participatory Design of Public Spaces” program, this initiative has been essential to revitalize 37 areas in different parts of the city, with an investment of 40 million pesos.

The “Guadalupe” park joins the more than 600 parks in the city, offering a recreational place for families in Cholul and its surroundings.

The event was attended by prominent personalities, including Diana Canto Moreno, Municipal Trustee and president of the Citizen Participation Commission, and Julio Sauma Castillo, Municipal Secretary and president of the Urban Development and Public Works Commission. 

In addition, Lizeth Cocom Canché, commissioner of Cholul, and representatives of several social institutions and organizations were present.

Marisol Puerto Acevedo, head of the Secretary of Citizen Participation, praised the commitment of the Cholul community, which is distinguished by its active participation in the participatory design process.

She highlighted the fundamental role of the community in decision-making and the importance of continuing to work together to achieve more actions that benefit the community.

Those attending the event expressed their satisfaction with the results obtained and thanked the City Council for promoting programs that encourage citizen participation in the implementation of projects that strengthen social cohesion and the common good. 

Finally, Mr. Juan Pablo Salas and his wife Norris Nájera, on behalf of the inhabitants of the Guadalupe neighborhood, praised the joint effort between the citizens and the municipal government.
