Dance teacher accused of abusing his students gets arrested in Mérida

A dance teacher accused of sexual abuse against girls who attended his dance academy was arrested on Tuesday, February 13th, by investigating agents of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

According to official information, Juan Carlos TR, 30 years old, originally from Mérida, Yucatán, would have committed the attacks at the “TDS, Tenorio Dance Studio” academy, located in the Morelos Oriente neighborhood, in the South side of Merida, very close to Kukulcán Park.

Based on the complaints and investigations carried out by the State Investigative Police (PEI) of the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, the dance teacher is likely responsible for the crime of aggravated sexual abuse.

Among his victims were three girls of 10, 11, and 13 years of age respectively, whom, under the pretext of trying on clothes, he made them undress in front of him and threatened them so that they would not tell their parents.

Once the arrest warrant was executed, the investigating agents and prosecutors, placed him at the disposal of the Control Judge who is following the criminal process.
