According to Quadratin Quintana Roo, an intentional homicide was committed in Cozumel, the first so far this year on the island.
COZUMEL, QRoo, February 9, 2024.- A person was murdered in the Flores Magón 2 neighborhood of Cozumel, the events occurred on Calle 3 Sur between 65 and 65 bis.
The victim was inside an establishment in the company of another person when, suddenly, two individuals on a motorcycle entered the place and opened fire on the now deceased.
The attackers, after committing the homicide, fled on the same motorcycle in an unknown direction. Meanwhile, the companion of the executed man walked a block and sat on the sidewalk, waiting for medical attention.
So far, no arrests have been made concerning this event, making this the first murder of the year on the island of Cozumel.
