In 2024, a 468% increase in dengue cases has been registered nationwide

The Ministry of Health reported that 74% of confirmed cases are concentrated in 5 states.

In the first two months of 2024, Mexico experienced a notable increase in dengue cases, reaching the figure of 5,439, which represents an increase of 468 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, where the incidence was limited to 958 cases.

According to the most recent epidemiological report from the Ministry of Health, corresponding to the week of February 19 to 25, 74 percent of the confirmed cases in the country are concentrated in 5 states, with Guerrero in first place with 2,071. cases: 823 of non-severe dengue (DNG), 1,186 of dengue with warning signs (DCSA), and 62 of severe dengue (DG).

The second affected state is Tabasco , with 961 cases, followed by Quintana Roo , with 428; Veracruz , with 299, and Colima with 289.

Baja California, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Durango, Hidalgo, Querétaro, Sonora, Tlaxcala and Zacatecas are the states that, since the beginning of 2024, have not presented any confirmed cases of dengue.
