A Salvadoran national was arrested after stealing more than 50 thousand pesos from a construction materials company.

Carlos I.M.P., 34 years old and driver for said company, reported that on 39th Street by 32nd, in the port of El Cuyo, a subject stole more than 50 thousand pesos in cash from him.

He says that hours ago, his boss had left him the money to make some purchases, so he decided to keep it in a briefcase and then put it on the truck he works.

When he returned to the truck, he says, he realized that the money was not there, so when he asked the other employees, they told him that a man known as “Calimba” had taken the money since they thought it was part of his labor.

After reporting the facts, the Municipal Police managed to find out that, after getting the money, the subject got on public transport and left the port. An operation managed to locate the transport on the Colonia Yucatán – Samaria highway section.

The man was identified as René A. R. G., 30 years old, who was found with the amount of 41,100 pesos, of which he could not explain its origin, so the Salvadoran living in Temozón was placed at the disposal of the National Migration Institute. It was reported that the owners of the cash would have to go to the State Attorney General’s Office to file their corresponding complaint.
