On Sunday, February 18th, at 11:47 a.m. the Municipal Police of Mérida became aware of a traffic incident on the corner of 60th and 65th Streets, in which three people were injured after being hit by a bus.

As the Route 90 Cobay Canek bus marked with the number 716 was traveling from north to south on 60th Street, driver Edwin JNG made a maneuver to the left to try to continue on 65th Street, at which point he hit three women who were standing on the sidewalk.

Paramedics from the Municipal Police went to the scene and provided care to Amelia RH and Patricia O D., who suffered bruises in the lumbar region, and Fernanda RM who suffered a head injury in the occipital region.

None of the three people needed to be transferred to a hospital, and the parties involved reached an agreement at the scene.

If you are visiting Mérida and walking around the Downtown area, please be very careful even while standing on the sidewalk, you may be involved in an accident.
