The Government of Mauricio Vila Dosal promotes the modernization and rehabilitation of the San Carlos Hospital in Tizimín as part of its commitment to the transformation of the health system in Yucatán.

These works, which are almost completed, aim to strengthen medical services and benefit more than 57 thousand inhabitants who lack social security in the eastern part of the state.

The hospital, which serves people from both the municipality and its 86 distrcits (Comisarías), as well as from neighboring municipalities such as Espita, Calotmul, Sucilá and Panabá, among others, will see its care capacity increased thanks to an investment of more than 31 million pesos .

One of the beneficiaries of these improvements is Chemax resident Jaina May Tuz, who regularly visits San Carlos Hospital with her mother-in-law to receive dialysis treatment for diabetes.

For her, the improvements in the hospital have made her stay more comfortable and agile, which means a great benefit for her and her family.

The work carried out covered the modernization of several areas of the hospital, including public bathrooms, offices, hallways, hospitalization area, laboratory, imaging, and pharmacy, as well as the construction of a new waiting room to improve the patients’ experience.

Edgardo Braga Aranda, a resident of Panabá, expressed his satisfaction with the transformation of the hospital, highlighting the significant change in infrastructure and the increase of the waiting room capacity, which he considers a great plus for the local community.

In addition to infrastructure improvements, general maintenance was carried out on biomedical equipment and a self-generated steam sterilizer was installed, as part of the state government’s commitment to guarantee quality health services.

These actions are part of a series of projects aimed at improving the quality of health services in the state of Yucatán, ensuring that all citizens have access to decent and quality medical care.
