Hail in Yucatán surprises residents of Peto; strong winds and rain

This Friday afternoon, March 22, the inhabitants of Peto were surprised when heavy rain fell accompanied by thunder, strong winds, and even hail.

The rain lasted for around 20 minutes, with wind and hail, which cooled the town, where high temperatures had prevailed in recent days.

The families of the town were eagerly waiting for the rain to fall due to the high temperatures that had prevailed, but their surprise was great when they heard that hail the size of marbles could be heard falling on the tin and palm tree roofs.

Some came out at the door of their homes to observe this natural phenomenon and in a matter of minutes, videos of this event began to be shared through social media. What happened also causes concern among farmers because rain with hail harms burning, since due to the cold caused by hail, it will be difficult for them to burn their cornfields, where the hail has fallen.
