On February 28, a letter signed by 123 journalists from various media outlets around the world was published, against the “doxxing” or harassment that Amlo committed against Natalie Kitroeff, the NYT journalist.

In the letter issued by those who practice and teach journalism in Mexico, they ask that leaders exercise their right to reply without putting journalists at risk and comply with the Federal Data Protection Law.

Likewise, the presidential candidates are asked to “commit to respecting freedom of the press (…) and recognize their responsibility not to take actions that expose journalists.”

For her part, Natalie Kitroeff was grateful for the solidarity of the journalists, while Amlo reacted negatively to the letter during his morning: “Enough of so much hypocrisy,” she concluded.
