A spectacular mobilization of members of the Secretariat of National Defense and the Secretariat of Public Security arose this Tuesday, March 19th, around six in the morning, due to the appearance of a 60 mm caliber mortar grenade, in the Chuburná neighborhood of Hidalgo.
The events were reported on the closed street 13 by 20, of the aforementioned neighborhood, where SSP agents arrived, who upon seeing the active grenade immediately reported it to the Sedena personnel.
In minutes, the site was filled with soldiers, who were in charge of rescuing the active explosive by personnel specialized in war material.
For the safety of those present and the residents of the area, the site was cordoned off for the corresponding procedures and the recovery of the grenade.
This type of explosive, which is normally used in military training, was found on the terrace of a house in the Chuburna de Hidalgo neighborhood, on the west side of Mérida.
Until now, it is unknown how the explosive appeared on the terrace of a private property.
