With the record of high temperatures, the consumption of drinking water in the municipality also increases and the Kanasín Drinking Water Directorate highlights that the demand for the service has grown by at least 50 percent in recent days.

KANASIN, YUCATAN.- The Kanasín Drinking Water Directorate highlighted that for several weeks an increase in the demand for drinking water has been observed because temperatures have been rising in the municipality and in the state. He indicated that Kanasin is prepared to face this demand, which occurs especially between 12 noon and 5 p.m.

The system highlighted the importance of service users making responsible use of drinking water in their homes. “Although a good part of the population is aware of taking care of water, we have also observed that in many homes the tap is left open and this type of situation also affects the residents of an area or subdivision,” the statement noted.

“We know that there is greater awareness to take care of the vital liquid and it is important to make the most of it when using it, especially when carrying out tasks within homes,” indicated the Kanasín Drinking Water Directorate.

The organization highlighted that work will soon begin to replace pumps in the El Encanto and Naranjos stations, this with the purpose of improving the water supply in several surrounding neighborhoods such as Despertares, San José, Bugambilias, Alameda, San Francisco, among others.

In this sense, the organization recommends that the population make responsible use of this vital liquid and, above all, report any leak that is detected, so that City Council brigades can go to the site to repair it and thus prevent it from being wasted, or misused.
