Mexico City woman dies in 8M march due to cardiorespiratory arrest
A 33-year-old woman died this Friday, March 8th, during the annual 8M march in Mexico City after suffering respiratory arrest on Avenida 5 de Mayo, just a few blocks from the Zócalo.
The woman was walking with her partner and other friends when she fainted, so she was treated by ERUM paramedics, who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers and then took her to the hospital.
Upon her arrival at the hospital, she was diagnosed without vital signs due to cardiorespiratory arrest.
A total of 164 people, 112 civilians, and 52 police officers were treated, mostly for heatstroke.
In addition, there were seven hospital transfers due to bone fractures, solvent ingestion, pregnancy complications, and fainting.
