Our state confirms its place as the one with the lowest incidence of crime against the gender.
Yucatán is once again considered the safest and most peaceful State in the country, by reaching its historical minimum and first place with the lowest crime index nationwide, in terms of femicides, intentional homicides, and victims of kidnapping in women according to the report from last January of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (Sesnsp).
In this document, the Sesnp reports that Yucatan registered a historical minimum with 0.40 victims per 100 thousand women, which placed it in first place in the entire country with the lowest crime prevalence rate against women, and this figure is lower to the national average of 13.83.
Likewise, the State was positioned in the first place and achieved another historical minimum in the category of lowest rate of kidnapping victims in women, registering Zero cases, this figure being lower than the national figure of 0.02.
In addition, our state remained with the historical minimum and first place in the lowest rate of intentional homicides by registering zero cases in that period, which resulted in a figure lower than the national figure of 0.30.
Yucatán is also in first place with the lowest rate of femicides, by not registering cases, so that figure is lower than the national rate of 0.09.
Finally, the federal agency’s report highlights that the state maintained its historical minimum regarding the lowest rate of victims of intentional injuries to women, registering 0.24 crimes per 100,000 women, a figure that is lower than the national figure of 7.41.
All of this is a result of the security policy and the Yucatán Seguro program, with which the police are being provided with equipment, technology and strong training to go from 2,248 surveillance cameras to 6,775 and 100 road arches to 219.
As part of these efforts, the C5i was created and the Police Academy will become a Police University. Without forgetting the modern Bell 429 helicopter, considered the best equipped of its type in all of Latin America, as well as speed boats to patrol the coastal municipalities.
