A vacant lot burns in Mérida’s Colonia Pensiones

A vacant lot was somehow set on fire in the Colonia Pensiones.

Mérida, Yucatan (April 8, 2024).- The grounds of the “Mitza” cenote next to a G-500 gas station, behind Plaza Canek in the west of Mérida caught fire last night.

The flames destroyed part of the vegetation, right next to 200 Mérida Avenue and 49th Street in the El Porvenir subdivision, where the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is located.

In the end, agents of the SSP and firefighters from the Merida Fire Department arrived on the scene and put out the fire.
