In the second week of May, the “Air Taxi” service will start connecting the city of Mérida with Chichén Itzá, Cancún, Cozumel, Chetumal and Villahermosa.
The Aerus company reported that they are now ready to start operations with an investment of 98 million US dollars for a fleet of 14 aircraft.
Aerus will begin operations next May, but since the end of March, the first reservations have already been made on the operational routes of Mérida-Cancún, Mérida-Chetumal and Mérida-Villahermosa.
Aerus is a Mexican company belonging to the Corporación Aerotransportes Rafilher S.A. de C.V., dedicated to the air taxi business, based in San Luis Potosí, with branch offices in Monterrey.
Javier Herrera García, the owner of the company, announced in a statement that the airline will expand its operations in the Yucatan Peninsula to recover the connections left by the Aeromar company, which covered some of these points.
Likewise, it has routes that link to the cities Piedras Negras (Coahuila), Tampico, Matamoros, and Ciudad Victoria (Tamaulipas).
A fleet of 14 aircraft: seven Cessna Gran Caravan EX, with a capacity for nine passengers, and seven Cessna Sky Courrier, with a capacity for 19 passengers, will be covering routes in the northwest and now in the Mexican Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico.
