After an intense search in the forest surrounding this coastal town, 34-year-old Carlos Sánchez de la Cruz was located safely.
After several hours of anguish shortly after noon he was found 2 kilometers away from the Los Flamingos subdivision.
Two people from the port found him and notified the Municipal Police and SSP authorities, who made an improvised stretcher out of wood to load him into the vehicle.
After removing him from a breach, he was treated by state paramedics, who provided pre-hospital care, applying intravenous fluids since the man was completely dehydrated.
Everything indicates that Carlos suffered heat stroke when he was out looking for firewood last Tuesday, April 2nd, when the sun was shining and the temperature was around the 34° Celsius (93°F).
Fortunately, he was found alive and well, and he has been transferred to the Izamal Social Security Clinic, for better general care.
