Rommel Pacheco Marrufo, candidate for mayor of Mérida for the Morena, PT, and PVEM parties, was harshly confronted in a forum that was held with university students at a private school in Mérida, Yucatán, according to a video circulating on social networks.

The biggest complaint was the polarization and division that has worsened in society in recent years, one of the college students stated that “the political parties are putting us against each other.”

The students were invited to participate this Wednesday, April 17, in the presentation of the University Forum of Candidacies for the Mayor of Mérida, organized by the Anáhuac Mayab University.

There, during the presentation of his proposals, the candidate who has been called “chapulín” (grasshopper) for jumping from one political party to another, was questioned head-on by a student, with issues related to the self-called 4T. It is worth mentioning that candidate Rommel Pacheco Marrufo has been a member of the PAN, PRI, and now of Morena.

A university student from the Anahuac del Mayab University confronted the candidate and complained about his inconsistency as a candidate for mayor of Mérida. He said that the party he represents (Morena) lies to the people of Mexico in different ways like all the times they have increased the budget for the Maya Train. Likewise, he reproached him for how President Lopez Obrador’s speech has polarized the country’s population.

The college student also asked Pacheco Marrufo why does president Lopez Obrador wants to terminate the “Amparo” (injunction), that is one of the most important legal instruments in Mexico for the administration of justice.

To all this, Pacheco Marrufo did not respond to a single word, he simply observed his interlocutor without reacting in any way.

Finally, the event moderator took away the microphone from the student who was addressing the candidate and the event continued.

In his social networks, Rommel Pacheco did not mention any of the statements made by the college student, and he just said that he was happy to share his vision with the young people of Merida.
