Edgar Emilio de la Cruz Martínez suffered a spectacular accident aboard a vehicle, owned by the “San Gerardo” pork company.

His car crashed into the retaining fence of the curve located at the junction to San Bernadino, at kilometer 26 of the Mérida – Cancún highway.

Around five in the afternoon, Edgar was traveling from East to West on the aforementioned road, heading towards the city of Mérida. However, at that time a heavy downpour was falling which caused the vehicle to skid towards its right side just where the restraining bar installed to prevent the vehicles from going into a ravine begins.

The metal attachment was embedded in the vehicle facing the driver, but by a miracle, it deviated towards the passenger seat where, fortunately, no one was traveling. By a pure miracle, the driver came out alive and unharmed, but shaken.

Motorists who were passing by the place helped Edgar Emilio and called 911. In a matter of minutes, paramedics and members of the fire department arrived, removed the driver from the car with Yucatan license plate number YXW430D, after evaluating him. Paramedics decided to transfer him to a hospital for better care since he could have internal injuries.
