An eighteen-wheel truck ended up blocking one of the lanes of the Mérida-Cancún highway and overturning it on March 30th, causing a severe vehicular traffic problem in that area.
It is unknown how the accident occurred, which, fortunately, left no one injured, right on kilometer 15 of the aforementioned federal highway.
The truck driver dozed and lost control of the steering wheel until it overturned and ended up ‘blocking’ the width of the traffic lanes, one kilometer after the bridge on the detour to Acanceh.
Agents of the SSP arrived at the site of the accident to support the road, and the vehicles advancing towards Valladolid had to cross in a single file on the dirt road adjacent to the asphalt strip, which caused an acute road problem.
The support of cranes was requested to move the truck, and traffic remained complicated in that place almost in front of the entrance to Sahé, for several hours, while the corresponding procedures were carried out.
Fortunately, the other side of the highway was not blocked and the traffic flowed normally.
