A truck carrying mattresses caught fire on the afternoon of Thursday, April 11, at kilometer 201 of the Mérida-Muna highway.
The Municipal Police arrived at the site, whose agents tried to put out the fire, as well as direct traffic to avoid any other incident since the two circulation lanes were closed.
However, the car was entirely on fire, so when the state firefighters arrived, the flames had consumed the vehicle.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, since both the driver and his companion were able to get off the truck that was transporting mattresses.
Finally, the police officers who arrived on site and witnessed the incident suggested motorists and truck drivers to always carry a fire extinguisher in case of an emergency.
