Yucatán is experiencing an unprecedented moment in the workplace, with historic figures in the creation of formal employment and a notable increase in female labor participation, thanks to the effective policies implemented by the State Government.
Since the beginning of the current administration, the State has maintained an impressive streak of 35 consecutive months with record registrations of workers with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), reaching the historic figure of 440,000 formally registered jobs.
Particularly outstanding is the 22% increase in formal jobs held by women, which is equivalent to more than 30,000 new jobs for this sector since the beginning of the government administration.
These achievements are the direct result of a proactive strategy led by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal to attract investments, thus transforming the economic landscape of the State.
During this administration, more than 67,000 new formal jobs have been generated, attracting investments that exceed 156,000 million pesos distributed in more than 389 projects from various sectors, including information technologies, aerospace, real estate, agroindustrial, construction, logistics, among others. others, with the participation of internationally recognized brands such as Accenture, Airbus, Uchiyama, Woodgenix, Preh and many more.
In this way, Yucatán has become a center of economic development, attracting companies and production chains from all over the world.
A relevant aspect is the employment rate, which indicates that 98 out of every 100 Yucatecans looking for work find it, placing Yucatán among the four states with the lowest unemployment rate in Mexico. This figure reflects the strength of our labor market and the effectiveness of employment policies.
In addition, a more equitable distribution of job opportunities has been achieved. Previously, job creation was concentrated in the capital, with three jobs generated in Mérida for each one in the interior; Now, for every square created in the capital, two are generated within the State, promoting a more balanced regional development.
It is relevant to highlight the quality of the jobs created. The average salary of formal workers has increased more than 60% since the beginning of the administration, going from $302.52 to $484.27 pesos per day. This is the highest average daily wage recorded in the history of the State, reflecting not only an increase in the number of jobs, but also their quality.
The State Government is committed to continuing to strengthen these policies to ensure that development and job opportunities reach every corner of our entity. Our vision is clear: a prosperous, equitable and leading Yucatan in the national labor landscape.
