On Monday, May 20th, a man was found dead in one of the rooms of the Eros II motel, located in the eastern area of Mérida’s Periférico.
For now, it is only known that he was a man of approximately 65 years of age, whose body was found by workers at the site, who would have notified the 9-1-1 emergency number.
In a matter of minutes, paramedics arrived and, after checking that person, reported that he no longer had vital signs, so SSP agents cordoned off the room. The entire hotel waiting for the arrival of the PEI and the State Attorney General’s Office, whose work of collecting evidence and testimonies would begin to clarify the causes of the subject’s death.
Likewise, personnel from the Semefo department came to lift the body for the required autopsy.
It is worth mentioning that in this same motel, in January 2023, Joshua H. took the life of a 25-year-old girl named Yeimy, whose body he then threw into a well on a property in the south of Mérida.
Days later, the perpetrator was found dead in a hotel in the center of the country.
