President Andrés Manuel López Obrador concluded his work tour at the new Tulum Airport, in Southern Quintana Roo.

The Chief Executive began his tour last Friday, May 10th, in Campeche, and continued along the Maya Train route to Tulum.

The governor of Quintana Roo Mara Lezama (Morena), in the company of the head of the Executive, reviewed priority issues for the well-being and development of the state.

On behalf of the people of Quintana Roo, Lezama presented President López Obrador with a Mayan chess set.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported that Military Air Base (BAM) number 20, at the Felipe Carrillo Puerto Airport in Tulum, Quintana Roo, has become operational.

The airbase BAM number 20 can develop airspace surveillance functions on the southeastern border, which will have a relevant participation as a strategic logistics point to provide support in the event of natural disasters, operating jointly with the Secretary of the Navy.

Air surveillance aircraft, interception planes, and helicopters will operate in its facilities; all complemented with a radar system.
