One of the victims suffered gunshot wounds to the right eye and ear.
An armed attack in the community of Nuevo Caanan, Bacalar, left a man executed and a young man injured after unknown individuals traveling in a truck opened fire on them.
The event took place around 11:00 p.m. on April 27, when an emergency call reported that after an attack a man had been injured inside a truck at the entrance of a town and next to him, there was a man who no longer had vital signs.
The Quintana Roo Police went to the scene to investigate the incident after the call for help, finding the alleged victims, one dead and another with injuries to the ear and right eye, who were transferred to the Nicolás Bravo health center.
The authorities informed the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) about the event. Experts and agents carried out the corresponding procedures, and the body of the deceased was sent to the Forensic Medical Service for the autopsy, after unofficially identifying the deceased as José Antonio S.R., 34 years old, and the injured person as Rubicel L.P., 20 years old.
