As previously published in The Yucatan Times, a man was hospitalized after being attacked with a machete in the parking lot of Plaza Galería Mérida, and one day later, another machete attack was registered in the state capital.
A man and a woman received a couple of blows with machetes when they were trying to help a drunken individual who was sleeping on the street in the neighborhood known as Piedra de Agua, in the city of Merida on Monday, April 29th
The affected couple was walking through the subdivision’s streets when they found the man lying down, so they stopped and picked up the subject to take him to the house where he allegedly lives, on the corner of 42nd Street and 47-A, to avoid an accident.
However, when they left the man on the property, several people came out with machetes and attacked them. The man was the most affected, as he ended up with head injuries.
As best they could, they left the place and went to a clinic to receive emergency treatment, and then went to the corresponding authorities to file a formal complaint against the attackers.
