Authorities rescue five Ecuadorians kidnapped in Region 249 of Cancun

Quintana Roo State authorities suspect that the subjects were held against their will inside an apartment.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Quintana Roo announced that, through an operation, they managed to rescue five people in Region 249 of Cancun.

Authorities presume that these people were deprived of their liberty within an apartment in Cancun’s Sacbé subdivision.

They were five middle-aged men, originally from Ecuador, who were put on a Quintana Roo Police patrol car to be taken to the Public Ministry.

To date, the immigration status of the victims is unknown; the National Migration Institute (INM) is already following the case.

The Ministerial Police stayed at the scene to ask the residents of the building what they had seen to add it to the investigation file.

The foreign citizens did not show signs of violence, but when they saw the police they did not hesitate to leave with them with all their belongings stuffed in backpacks.
