On Monday, April 29 morning, the sighting of a sea turtle was reported in the Playa Norte area in Ciudad del Carmen, where it proceeded to lay several eggs. This event marks the beginning of the nesting season in this coastal area.

The rescue of the nest was carried out by personnel from Zofemat, Civil Protection, and the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), who worked together to guarantee the protection of the eggs and the mother turtle. Given this event, a call is made to the population to care for and preserve these natural spaces, as well as to protect the marine species that inhabit them. The preservation of sea turtles is of vital importance for the marine ecosystem and local biodiversity.
