The mayor’s office of Mérida presented the seventeenth edition of La Noche Blanca “Learning is the beauty of living”, which on this occasion will be held on May 24 and 25.

To see the complete billboard, with times and venues, of the seventeenth edition of “La Noche Blanca” you can access the official event page.

On this occasion there will be some adjustments in the venues of the shows, due to the work carried out by the State Government to improve the image and mobility in our Historic Center, celebrating this cultural festival in 72 venues, such as 11 parks, 9 museums, 2 theaters, 18 alternative forums and 32 galleries, with 300 activities between both nights.

“This does not mean that the heart of our city will be excluded from the festival, since we will also have activities at the Olimpo Cultural Center, MACAY, Pasaje Picheta, and other nearby points,” said Alejandro Ruz Castro, mayor of Mérida.

Ruz Castro mentioned that one of the alternate venues will be the Parque de las Américas, where the impulse that Mérida gives to local talent and art will bring a concert by the Children and Youth Orchestra of the City Council together with the Tizimín Youth Symphonic Band, among other activities that will be carried out in that iconic space of the city.

“As in every edition, Mérida promotes local art and on this occasion, it acquires a special strength with the participation, for the first time, of artistic groups from the interior of the State, who will bring us expressions that are very much ours, such as the jarana and the traditional trova that are part of our Yucatecan identity,” said Ruz Castro.

“They are joined by our guests from Colombia, Cuba, Spain, and England and other local artists so that, together, we can enjoy an authentic multicultural party with expressions from each of the nations that take part in this great May festival in Merida,” he explained.

Another of the new components of La Noche Blanca will be the theme of learning since Mérida is part of the UNESCO Learning City Network, which will include workshops, literary bazaars, book presentations, talks with professors from the Autonomous University of Yucatán and interviews with cultural actors among others, to show academic and artistic work from a collective learning perspective. Gastronomy is another element of La Noche Blanca that will be present with some 80 gastronomic providers with cafes and bars with art, authentic cuisines, food trucks, foods without borders, traditional cuisines, the Amix Collective, and the participation of the members of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), Yucatán delegation.
