The brave canoeists embarked on the ancestral journey across the Caribbean Sea towards the island of Cozumel, to worship the young goddess of the moon, IxChel, and Ixchebelyax, the old mother who weaves the destiny of men while pouring water. on earth.

On their journey, the canoeists pay tribute to Ixchel, the deity identified with fertility, the moon, and gestation. Once they touch land in Cozumel, they present offerings to the goddess and ask for her advice and wisdom, and then make the return trip and bring the good news to their communities in the mainland.
