Due to its competitive, economic, and security advantages, Yucatán is reiterated as a reference for attracting investments and international companies such as Changan Auto, whose agency in Mérida was inaugurated on Thursday, May 16th, by the person in charge of the Governor’s Office, María Fritz Sierra, and with the which generates more and better jobs for Yucatecans.
Changan Auto is one of China’s top 4 automotive groups, with more than 150 years of history; presence in more than 60 countries; and more than 90 thousand workers. It currently has 18 dealerships in 13 states in the country.
When speaking, Arturo Quirarte Dayarse, General Director of Grupo DICAS, highlighted that with the arrival of Changan Auto, Yucatán undoubtedly consolidates itself as one of the states with the highest sales in the republic, driven by the good policies of the State Government. particularly in matters of economic development and security.
“This strengthens our confidence to make this type of investment, due to this dynamic, the city of Mérida and the state of Yucatán are strategic for our brand, and achieving this physical presence will be the spearhead of what Changan will become in the Peninsula of Yucatán and Southeast Mexico. This operation will add more sales to the more than 20 million units that Changan moves annually,” he acknowledged.
Before Brant Pu, Changan Sales Director of the America Region and the mayor of Mérida, Alejandro Ruz Castro, Fritz Sierra highlighted that the opening of this agency shows that Yucatán is not only a tourist destination, but that it is already a reference state in terms of economic growth and investment attraction.
“And this is so because we are doing things well, and because we have comparative and competitive advantages that make us an ideal place to invest. Comparatively, due to our privileged geographical location, which connects us so directly and favorably, and by different means, with the largest market in the world, and with all the main routes on the map,” she recalled.
In the presence of the president of the Dicas Group Board, Emilio Díaz Castellanos, Fritz Sierra highlighted that in Yucatán it is clear that jobs are not generated by the government, but by businessmen, therefore, we are sure that more investments will continue to arrive, because Yucatán is a State that will continue to grow and develop in all economic sectors.
In that sense, she recalled that public security, certainty, and legal stability for investments are; which make Yucatán more competitive, in addition to being conditions recognized by prestigious institutions such as the British Consulting Firm Deloitte and the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO), which position our state as an ideal place to invest.
