Mauricio Vila had an outstanding participation in the nearshoring and infrastructure panel at the World Economic Forum
Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal participated, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and as president of the National Conference of Governors (Conago) in the panel discussion “Global Changes, the Moment of Mexico and the North American Framework” as part of the special meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), where he presented to businessmen from various parts of the world the strategic projects that have positioned Yucatán as a leader in nearshoring and that promote infrastructure, logistics and energy generation, to continue attracting more jobs and building a more sustainable future for Yucatecans.
During his speech and in the presence of the Chancellor of Mexico, Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, and the member of the WEF Executive Committee, Marisol Argueta de Barillas, Vila Dosal highlighted the importance of this forum that contributes to highlighting the great economic moment that is being experienced Mexico due to its positioning as an attractive destination for investments, where Yucatan plays an important role due to its growth potential thanks to its competitive advantages and the infrastructure, logistics and energy projects that its government is promoting.
The Governor highlighted the connectivity of our state, which has turned it into a key logistics center in the region by having the sixth largest international airport in the country with the highest arrival of domestic passengers and 22 national and international routes, which is added to the Port of Progreso, which is the busiest container movement in the southeast of Mexico, and the 609 kilometers of railway tracks that, together with the Mayan Train project, contribute to boosting tourism and cargo transportation.
In this sense, Vila Dosal stressed that the historical moment that Yucatán is experiencing has been characterized by having reached the year with the highest economic growth, the highest rate of job creation, the highest arrival of Foreign Direct Investment, the highest index of arrival of tourists and the safest year with the lowest incidence of crime in our history.
“We are building a sustainable and prosperous future for Yucatán, with a global perspective that promotes innovation, strengthens our infrastructure, and encourages the development of our young people, which is why the State Government is a committed ally in carrying out future projects that benefit the Yucatecans,” the governor concluded.
