The national president of the Mexican Association of Promoters of Fairs, Exhibitions, and Conventions (Amprofec), Julio Bojórquez Hernández, highlighted that Yucatán is among the first five destinations for the organization of events and the one that is growing the most.
Bojórquez Hernández attended the inauguration of the new president of Amprofec, South Zone, Mireya Camarena Arenas, where she announced that currently the sector represents 1.5 of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Republic and the topic of meetings represents 20 percent of that 1.5.
“Yucatán is one of the five most important destinations for the organization of events nationwide and the one that has been growing most strongly,” he stated.
“Here they are doing a great job, this is reflected in the fact that they contrast a bit with more conservative figures that are generated at the national level in other headquarters,” he added.
In addition to this, the leader highlighted that his environment is in clear recovery from the pandemic, on the verge of reaching levels prior to the chaos of Covid-19.
“The response from the people has been wonderful, the sector has been growing in a very important way,” he said.
“Here in Mérida they bring a very important boost, but this is also reflected at the national level and is vital, because whoever does the best job will have the opportunity to take better advantage of the recovery,” he added.
