A book will soon be published that will commemorate the 50 years of Yucatecan trova in the serenades of the Santa Lucía neighborhood, as announced by the poet Luis Pérez Sabido, who added that this work will have unique and never before seen photographic material of these events.
He indicated that the book will go on sale in a few weeks since it is currently in the editing period, so it should be released before January, the month in which the 60th anniversary of the Santa Lucía serenades will be celebrated, a research work that narrates 1,856 of the 2,506 serenades that took place in the first 50 years.
He pointed out that the work is the result of reviewing his files, as well as the research he carried out to obtain the information, in addition to the fact that it will come to light after having obtained photographs due to lack of graphic material it had not been able to come to light. Although, he clarified that it would not be a book of pure photography.
Pérez Sabido added that the book will have an introductory text written by Enrique Martín Briceño, whom he considered the most important cultural figure in the entity today, and about the 50 years of the Santa Lucía serenades, the 84-year-old poet said he hopes he has life to live in the moment.
