A Flamboyán tree falls in Colonia Alemán and leaves two cars damaged

After the rains that fell in recent days in Mérida, a large Flamboyan tree collapsed and damaged some cars parked near it. This accident, according to the report, happened on 27th Street between 22nd and 24th streets in Mérida’s Colonia Alemán.

The softening of the soil due to the rains and the poor condition of the roots meant that the enormous tree could no longer stand. Its branches remained on the road, blocking the passage of vehicles.

In addition, the branches reached two vehicles parked a few meters away; a white truck and a black compact that were damaged. The second car even ended up with its windshield broken by branches.

Social media users stated that some time ago the deterioration of the tree had already been reported to the authorities, who did not remove the tree back then, and now the fallen free is the road.
