A young motorcyclist who had just celebrated his 26th birthday party tragically lost his life after skidding on the Mérida-Tetiz federal highway.
On Saturday, June 8, a motorcyclist identified as Yonathan del Jesús Falcón Almeyda (a) “Yoni”, was riding on the aforementioned road and upon reaching kilometer 19+800, near the Texán Palomeque bridge, it seems that a blink of an eye caused him to lose control of the handlebars and he skidded drastically between the rocks and weeds.
Witnesses who were passing by the place asked for help from the 9-1-1 emergency service, shortly after 5 in the morning, so police and paramedics from the Public Security Secretariat arrived at the site to provide first aid.
However, they could do little, since Yoni had no vital signs. It was later learned that the cause of death was due to severe abdominal trauma.
The place was cordoned off by state police, where relatives of the now deceased appeared and could not believe the tragedy and told the authorities that just hours earlier the man was celebrating his 26th birthday.
