Erik Rihani González, PAN candidate for mayor of Progreso, filed a formal complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office for the death threats he received on his social networks and whose alleged authorship comes from a Morena follower.
In his complaint, filed with the Specialized Unit for the Investigation of Computer and Cyber Crimes, the PAN candidate lists the publications, one from May 28 where a civilian identified as R. R. sent him the following message on his Instagram account: “The seditious tend to die violently,” adding the image of a gun.
On May 29, in another publication by Rihani González, who was closing his campaign at that time, the same subject launched another death threat.
In the complaint, filed by his lawyer through a memorandum, the PAN candidate states that, in the face of such threats, he fears for his safety, his integrity and his own life and asks the Specialized Unit to investigate the origin of these publications until the person or persons responsible are found, in order to apply the corresponding sanctions for this attack against his person, which shows a political background.
