“Victory belongs to everyone and we will work tirelessly so that all Merida families do well,” said Cecilia Patrón Laviada before hundreds of Merida residents who accompanied her to receive the certificate that accredits her as municipal president of the Yucatecan capital.
“The contest is over. From now on we begin a new stage of work for our city, from unity, hand in hand with everyone.”
With 258,489 votes, Cecilia obtained the largest number of votes in history for a mayor of Merida.
With document in hand, in the first minutes of this Saturday, she addressed the citizens to remind them that she will put all her talents and love for one Merida from south to north, from east to west and from the center to our 47 police stations.
“That has always been my way of doing things, being close, walking every street, every neighborhood and every police station to learn firsthand about the needs of the people of Merida, and that is how we are going to work, always close, always united, always as a team to achieve more and more changes for the better,” she said.
The mayor of Merida said that her priority will be the improvement of public services and the creation of more and better jobs throughout the city, to do social justice, continue growing evenly and eradicate poverty.
