Claudia Sheinbaum, virtual president-elect, arrived at the Mérida airport today, Friday, June 28th, where she was received by the elected governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Mena, she was also accompanied by the citizens who did not hesitate to support her and show her affection.
The former head of Government of Mexico City will preside over the inauguration of the Edzná site museum, she will meet with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to tour the Mayan Train.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that the tour with the virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, for this weekend will be on the Mayan Train from Campeche to Mérida.
During her press conference, she was asked if she would invite the press to the tour, to which she responded that she was not considering it.
She indicated that on said tour it is planned to go to Edzná, Campeche, to review the progress of the hotel that is being built in that area of the state, as well as the inauguration of the archaeological site that is already completed.
Meanwhile, President Lopez Obrador said on his morning conference that he will tour the Yucatan Peninsula this weekend.
“We are going to Edzná because the hotel is already very advanced, all the reconstruction of the archaeological site is finished and we are going to supervise. Then we are going to have an evaluation meeting in Mérida, and from Mérida we are going to Cancún for another evaluation meeting and on Sunday we return,” AMLO explained.
“Claudia has her agenda and that is why it was decided to do the tour on the weekends Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” AMLO said.
It is very important to make the tour together because we are constatntly exchanging points of view on works, on projects, on the economic issue, and other topics” Lopez Obrador concluded.
