Femicide in the South of Mérida, she was attacked by her sentimental partner

The state police are carrying out investigations in a home in the Emiliano Zapata Sur III neighborhood where a woman was injured with a knife by her romantic partner and later died.

The events occurred on the morning of Tuesday, June 25, in a house located on 167th Street in that neighborhood, where the woman, approximately 40 years old, was attacked by her partner with a knife.

After suffering the attack, the woman went out to the street to ask for help. A neighbor heard the screams and helped the injured woman and she asked the emergency services for assistance. Within minutes agents of the state police and paramedics arrived.

As authorities arrived, the alleged attacker ran out of the house and fled the scene on foot.

The woman was treated on-site and then transferred to a clinic for specialized care. However, she died later, so the case was classified as aggravated femicide. The alleged murderer was identified as José P., who remains at large. The police maintain a search operation in the area to find the fugitive.
