Potential Tropical Cyclone One caused heavy rains in Campeche this Tuesday, which caused flooding in some municipalities, such as Ciudad del Carmen, which forced the Army to implement the emergency DN-III-E Plan.
State authorities reported that classes were suspended throughout the State as a preventive measure, while residents of the capital suffered from the suspension of urban transportation at times.
Meteorology Yucatán reported on its social media that the meteorological station in Campeche had dropped 113 mm of accumulated precipitation in recent days.
Given the heavy flooding and the proximity to the Chumpán River, in Aguacatal, the town of El Carmen, 10 families were transferred to shelters by personnel from the 33/a—Military Zone, which applied the DN-III-E plan.
The Command of the 33rd. Military Zone, with the support of the Campeche State Coordination of the National Guard (GN) and state and municipal Civil Protection authorities, carried out coordinated actions for the monitoring and timely detection of possible effects due to heavy rains in the low-pressure area in front of the coasts.
Military personnel carried out reconnaissance in areas with a greater probability of flooding and in communities located on the banks of the Candelaria, Chumpán, and Palizada rivers, which at the moment do not present a risk of overflowing.

It was reported that more than 10 houses had flooded inside, located near the “Chumpán” river, in Aguacatal.
Therefore, aid was provided to the affected families and they were transferred to 3 temporary shelters located in educational establishments in the same town.
In Champotón, dozens of families were evacuated from their homes because heavy rains flooded their homes.
San Pablo Pixtún, a town in the municipality of Champotón, was underwater, so several families were evicted, especially the most affected because their homes already had more than one meter of water. Other communities in that state experienced significant flooding.
Municipal authorities had a hard job due to reports of fallen trees due to heavy rains.
