How to take care of your pets in case of the impact of a hurricane in Quintana Roo

The Environmental Protection Attorney’s Office calls on the population to provide adequate care for their pets, and always have them under strict surveillance, even more so during this 2024 hurricane season.

This is because, in the event of the impact of a hydrometeorological phenomenon, pets also suffer, leaving them unprotected or escaping from their homes due to strong winds, so they must also be taken into account and placed under shelter inside the homes. The authorities of the Environmental Protection Attorney’s Office point out that the instructions of the authorities must be followed and, where appropriate, take the pets to the shelters or take them to the animal shelters that are activated in Quintana Roo. And animals are sentient beings that must be cared for and loved like any living being.
